In the village of Černá Voda in the Olomouc region, a design was created and implemented for a young family who bought a 100-year-old cottage in this picturesque landscape of the Rychlebské trails.
We were approached with the requirement to preserve traditional elements with an unconventional concept … in a playful way and with a colourful colour scheme.
The old beamed ceiling contrasts with the modern concept of rubber flooring. The clay plaster retains the traditional use of the material, plus its warm appearance adds to the cosiness and domesticity. In the lower part of the house, a new alcove (conservatory) with plywood panelling has been added to serve as a social space for the whole family.
